Nicole Janelle

Growing up, I loved playing with dolls and stuffed animals. I made up stories. At that time in the 1960s, I was living in a small village in central Quebec. We had very few resources, far from those of today.

We made our own decorations with paper, cardboard, string, pieces of wood, etc. Later in the 70s and 80s, I had the chance to learn crafts such as knitting, crochet and embroidery from my mother. In addition, I had the chance to use other artistic techniques in my high school and college classes.

One thing led to another, everyday life required me to fulfill my obligations to work to meet my needs. I put aside this artisanal practice.

Now I am retired. This new stage is marked by the beginning of a new creative adventure, allowing me to reconnect with the passions of my childhood. These precious memories have guided my return to my roots.

I chose to devote myself to creating crochet dolls and teddy bears. This craft activity allows me today to express my creativity while perpetuating know-how transmitted with love.
